A Happy Birthday For Harriet Redmond

It is a very happy birthday indeed for Harriet Redmond who has claimed the win in the North Island Premier Novice Horse Challenge, and a $500 cheque from sponsors, Designer Bars at Equidays today. Harriet, from Ashburton, rode Ngahiwi Frostie, a horse who has only recently changed disciplines from high-level eventing to showing, after being bought by Harriet’s coach, Christine Weal. Earlier this morning, the pair also claimed the Novice Saddle Hunter Championship.

It was another eye-catching grey that impressed the judges in the Scott Borland Novice Pony Challenge running at the same time in the ring next door. Young Mikayla Wildermoth has already achieved a lot in a small amount of time in the show ring, including representing New Zealand at the 2017 Grand Nationals in Australia. But it was her future star to the fore today, Jym-Aud Dew Drop Mahogany, with the combination coming out on top to win $500 prize money and a stunning sash.
