The second day at the North Island Premier Show didn't disappoint with a display of seasoned sho

Trey Cadwallade - Leeara Park First Edition won NZ Lisa Chittick Supreme Ridden Exhibit

Trey Cadwallader had a wonderful day in the 12.2 Open Pony Championship and performed extremely well to take the win on Eastdale Diva. Hot on their heels came Ruby Norton-Collins riding Sanlirra Pretty Polly who secured the Reserve championship.

Natacha Otto and Cuv’ee looked beautiful and the judge sashed them with the Champion ribbon. It was disappointing to see that they were the only entry. Natacha Otto said after the class, “It is a let down to see that there was not any competition and it felt like a hollow victory. We don’t come to shows to be the only one in the class.”

The Riding Horse section seemed to have the most entries in the hack rings and what a wonderful display of horses it was. The beautiful horse well ridden by Amanda Berridge, the six-year-old Glamorgan By Design worked their magic to win the wide Champion sash today, together with the Paced & Mannered Riding Horse they took yesterday. Amanda has competed him for the past two seasons and was thrilled with the win.

Dorothy Lennard and Glentullock showed us once again that they still have a firm grip on the Saddle Hunter Horse title by taking the Championship again today.

The big guns were out in force in the Hack ring. Although entries were not high, quality prevailed. Lady’s Honour RP looked a beautifully elegant picture and was the overall successful combination. Reserve was awarded to Felicity Keyte’s Top Shelf.

The 13.2 ponies came to the ring in all their glory. The entries again were not huge but Trey Cadwallader gave a lovely riding demonstration aboard his pony Leeara Park First Edition, and the pair were declared the champion combination today. Reserve went to Bella Vujcich and the beautiful Aschbrooke Bobby Dazzler.

The 14.2 Saddle Hunter ponies stormed into the ring with their bold paces an impressive sight for spectators. Hayley James and full warmblood pony Rakanui Grace’N”Dazzle by Hilkens Denali were the Champions of the day - seven-year-old has just won its way out of Novice.

Hayley said that she was just proud to make the owner (Karen McLachlan) proud and went on to say how much she enjoyed competing today. Reserve Champion went to Ashlee Barlow riding Phoenician Poem.

The 13.2 Saddle Hunter ponies were also up for the challenge, with Mikayla Trott and Tui's Keepsake securing the Championship convincingly.

12.2 Saddle Hunter ponies were again light on entries but those entered were as cute as a button. Today’ Champion was Trey Cadwallader and Nanteos Autumn Guardsman Day, with Reserve secured by Rowan Oaks Snowbird in the hands of Liam Murphy.

How nice it was to see the 14.2 ponies giving us a display from the older and more proven riders. Fourteen year-old Ashlee Barlow aboard her lovely Raptures Unforgettable took the 14.2 Championship today.

Trey Cadwallader and Leeara Park First Edition took a hold of the prestigious New Zealand Lisa Chittick Supreme Ridden Exhibit today and no-one could loosen their grip on the win. It was a delight to watch.

Twelve year old Trey said after the class, “I was very privileged to win titles on all of my ponies. My mum always tells me that all the hard works pays off and it did today. I couldn’t have done it without the support of everyone especially my family. I am honoured to have amazing sponsors like Supreme Products that make my ponies look sparkly with their turnout products and HyGain Feeds that condition them so well.”
