Show Horse Finale In The Kubtoa Outdoor Arena

The final classes in the Kubota Outdoor Arena belonged to the show horses and ponies. It was disappointing that not all the horses invited to compete turned up, with only three of the ten invited showing up for the Show Horse Challenge. Perhaps they didn't realise just how unique riding at an event like Equitana is. But, the winners were undoubtedly quality.

Of the three hacks, it was the successful Lady's Honour RP, ridden by Vanessa Everton, that claimed the garland and rug, backing up her IRT OTT Thoroughbred Show Horse Championship win yesterday.

Eastdale Diva has been one of the most successful show ponies in New Zealand of all time, and so it was fitting that she was sashed the winner of the Show Pony Challenge, piloted by rider Brooke Cadwallader. In reserve, Noah Murphy had his second successful ride of the day claiming the runner-up spot on Linden Heavenly Music.
